Andrew Micheli, Executive Director

Andrew Micheli joined A&BC in 2006, serving as Director of Programs before his promotion to Executive Director in 2012. Andrew has been an active member of the arts community as an actor, writer and administrator, appearing in over 40 productions and solo works throughout Chicago and New York, with original work for the stage, “Train of Thought,” produced at American Theatre Company. He was an active ensemble member of American Theatre Company for 12 years, performing in numerous productions as well as serving in all aspects of the theatre’s operations and management. Prior to joining A&BC, Andrew’s experience included advertising and design for a variety of industries and clients. Andrew holds a BS in Marketing from Indiana University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia College. He has taught creative writing and arts administration at Columbia College.
Sarah Frye, Programs Manager (BVA)

Sarah Frye joined the A&BC team in November of 2014 as a Programs Assistant before being promoted to smARTscope Coordinator in January 2015. Sarah has been in her role as Programs Manager since June of 2015. Sarah hails from Jacksonville, IL, and received her BA in Political Science from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2007 and worked for the Illinois Chamber of Commerce. Serving as Manager of Legislative Relations until 2012, Sarah then went back to school and received her BA in Dance from Columbia College Chicago. Obviously this major career shift was due to a passion and commitment to the Arts. Sarah also teaches dance in her spare time with Design Dance Chicago and writes for Chicago Stage Standard. Fun fact: My party trick is being able to walk on my hands. A skill from my former days as a gymnast.
Noemi Garcia, Programs Manager (On BOARD)

Noemi Garcia is the liaison for new arts clients, manages the client side of the On BOARD program, and manages the Membership Program. Noemi joined the Programs Department in 2011. Before joining A&BC, she assisted a grassroots restaurant workers' rights nonprofit in Detroit with research and program development. She received her BA in Sociology from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). She grew up in the arts and is thankful that her parents made her go to Saturday morning piano lessons for 10 years, visit art museums, and attend performances at every opportunity. You can find her at cultural events and museums around the city, in the bike lane, or at the airport on her way to her next adventure.
Chris Huaracha, ArtCore Director of Finance & Operations
Chris Huaracha joined ArtCore in November 2016 and serves as its first Director of Finance & Operations at our downtown office. Originally from the Cleveland suburbs and the Houston area, Chris attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he received his Bachelors degree in Diplomacy & Foreign Affairs. He brings over 9 years of operations and finance experience from a variety of industries. He initially began working for a biotech firm in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he began his career in accounting. Chris later relocated to Chicago, where he held positions in accounting, finance, and human resources in the legal and e-commerce industries. After a hiatus from the corporate world, Chris decided to focus and utilize his skills for nonprofits. This came after volunteering for organizations like the Lakeview Pantry, the Human Rights Campaign, and the Center on Halsted. Prior to working at ArtCore, he was in operations management at Equality Illinois, the country's third largest state LGBT advocacy and education organization. He is trilled to be part of the ArtCore initiative and to be a part of the arts community.
Katie Kurcz, Director of Programs - Management Services

Katie Kurcz co-manages the Programs Department and oversees the Business Volunteers for the Arts (BVA) program, consults with clients, trains consultants, develops core programs and evaluates program success. Katie joined A&BC in 2009. She has experience both in the private and public sectors formerly working in marketing at Crain's New York Business, in consulting at United Way of America, in operations at Galleria Mentana and in development at the Art Institute of Chicago. She is founding co-chair of the Snow City Arts’ Auxiliary Board. She received her B.A. from Syracuse University with a double major in Public Policy & Public Relations and minor in Fine Arts and her M.A. in Arts Administration & Policy at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Katie is an ex-team athlete turned reluctant runner, recreational painter, fearless traveler, March Madness addict and proponent of handwritten letters. She can be found walking her rescue chocolate lab Hiro along Foster Ave beach with her husband Alex.
Jessica Strattard, Director of Development

Jessica Strattard came to A&BC in February of 2015 with non-profit development experience, particularly with foundation and corporate donors. Strattard previously worked as Assistant Director of External Relations and Development at Hudson Guild, a multi-service social services agency in New York City and as a Fundraising Manager for United Way of Metropolitan Chicago. Strattard has a MPPA from Northwestern University, MA in Journalism from Michigan State University and BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
Kristen Teasdale, Director of Programs - Board Services & Training

Kristen Teasdale oversees the On BOARD Training & Matching and Board Consulting programs, and co-manages the Annual Workshop Series. Kristen joined the A&BC Programs Department in 2008 with a background in hospitality and event planning and loves lending her expertise to A&BC events wherever she can. She has a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Northwestern University and a BBA in Finance from Eastern Michigan University. Kristen is an avid cook and gardener and leads a team of volunteers each month to cook for a group of 100+ community guests at Ravenswood Community Services.
