The Arts & Business Council of Chicago (A&BC) announced that Peter Kuntz has resigned as Executive Director of A&BC.  Kuntz has decided to pursue other professional opportunities.

“We thank Peter for his three years of service to the organization and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” said John Gingell, chair of the A&BC.

The A&BC Board unanimously approved the appointment of Andrew Micheli as its new Executive Director.  Micheli has served as the organization’s Director of Programs since 2007.

“We are fortunate to have built the bench strength with someone with the passion and institutional knowledge that Andrew has to ensure that we continue to make a difference in  Chicago’s arts community,” said Gingell.

In his role as Director of Programs, Micheli set the strategic direction of A&BC’s programs.  He also designed, obtained funding, implemented and managed programs and key collaborations for A&BC.  Prior to joining A&BC, Micheli’s experience included advertising and design, market evaluation and targeting, brand development, and campaign creation and execution for a variety of industries and clients.

Andrew has been an active member of the arts community as an actor and writer, appearing in over 40 productions and solo works throughout Chicago and New York, with original work for the stage, “Train of Thought,” produced at American Theatre Company.

Micheli holds a BS in Marketing from Indiana University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia College. He is also adjunct faculty member in the Fiction Department at Columbia College.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with an excellent board and talented staff to continue the work we’ve been doing and to grow the organization and strengthen our ability to serve Chicago’s vibrant arts community.”  said Micheli.
